DIVING IN THAILAND
Thailand with its islands on east- and westcoast is a popular destination for divers and those who want to become one
KOH LANTA
Thailands westcoast is
more than the Similan-islands: the southern divesites around Koh Lanta are worth
a visit. Those are Phi Phi, Koh Bida, Koh Haa, Koh Rok, Hin Daeng and Hin Muang.
Each island has its own underwaterworld, which makes diving there everytime a
new experience: Leopardsharks at Bida and Phi Phi, caves and overhangs at Koh
Haa, lunchbreak with Monitor Lizzards on Koh Rok, diving with Manta Rays around
Hin Daeng...
The short season from October to May is usually hot and dry, even though there can be strong rain in the evenings, it doesn't change the diving conditions that much. In this time of the year visibility is up to 30m and water temperature around 30°C. Daytrips by speedboat with pick-up on the beach, late start and early return, 2 dives and lunch.
